Please note that on or around July 15, 2009, AT&T will no longer be
offering access to the Usenet netnews service. If you wish to continue
reading Usenet newsgroups, access is available through third-party
vendors.

Posted only internally to AT&T Usenet Servers.

Since this message was supposedly posted internally only, does this mean a.c.l-h
is originating from AT&T servers? If so, I guess it will be no more when their
Usenet goes. :(

No--no one provider owns any Usenet group. AT&T is just distancing themselves
from Usenet thanks to pointless grandstanding by a cheap politician or two.

Good! Not that there's been much life here recently. I'm guessing the
political angle is more a convenient excuse for saving a few bucks than anything
else. There's not been clear evidence of AT&T or any other provider
discontinuing Usenet making a real effort to keep it.
