================================
I am here, performing my daily check in hopes of further news about
Michael Agee's set of L&H, announced l-o-o-o-o-n-g ago.

It seems that whenever TCM schedules a Laurel & Hardy film, here in
Canada it gets replaced by something without L&H. No doubt some kind of
rights issue. Without the Net (ahem) I'd be in severe withdrawal.

Well, lessee. Got the new Stan Laurel DVD from Kino a few weeks ago
and glad I got it. Nice to see some of Stan's ol' stuff come out on
home video for the first time. I now have videos of all of the 11
surviving Joe Rock-produced Stan Laurel films.

I was looking forward to seeing "Somewhere in Wrong," since Rob Stone
(obviously) discussed it in his book and Randy Skretvedt addressed
himself as being from there in his intro to Stone's book. I must admit
I was a little disappointed in the film.

Obviously, since it's a Stan Laurel film. my opinion MUST be mistaken!
Have to watch it again...

I remember some author or other bad-mouthing "West of Hot Dog" in some
book about the Boys. I think "West of Hot Dog" is hilarious, and fooey
on whoever it was.

As important as "Get 'em Young" was to both Stan's and Ollie's career,
it's really quite a surprise that it took so long to come to the U.S.
on home video.

By the way... does anybody happen to know whether Michael Agee is even
_alive_ now? Somebody would have reported it if he had died, wouldn't
they?

Hey, Rob Stone! You reading? Hope to see you at the Slapsticon in a
few weeks...

There! That's enough junk for one posting. I'm working on a summary of
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy solos to post here within the next few
weeks, culled from Rob Stone's book and other sources...

When I bitched at Michael S. from Sony about the lack of bonus comedy
shorts on the upcoming Hammer Icons of Horror set coming out this
October, and listed some perfectly good Columbia scare-themed shorts
he could've included (Shemp Howard, Tom Kennedy & Monte Collins, and
Andy Clyde shorts were included on previous releases), he told me that
compilation collections of Columbia Charley Chase and Harry Langdon
shorts are under consideration.
