Picked this up at Costco today for $31.49. Does seem a "bit" pricey,
and even though I already have all of these films (Charlie Chan's
Secret, Charlie Chan at Monte Carlo, Charlie Chan on broadway, and
Charlie Chan in the Black Camel and BEHIND THAT CURTAIN as a bonus), I
bought the set anyway because it is PACKED with special features. FIVE
featurettes including one on the last days of Warner Oland.

I guess basically I bought it just for the special features. And it's
nice the films are restored.

Most of the Chans were produced by the Sol Wurtzel unit at 20th Century-Fox.
Several were directed by Harry Lachman (OUR RELATIONS)
Many of the costumes and props seen in CC AT TREASURE ISLAND were recycled
in A-HAUNTING WE WILL GO.

Like it or not, the members of this newsgroup have proved time and
time again that they are also fans of other vintage films and film
series including Chan, Moto, Bowery Boys, and many others.

Yes, I should have tagged the subject line OT, sorry about that.

The fact remains we've had some great discussions here about all sorts
of vintage films, cartoons, and silents. But you knew that.

And don't forget - Sidney Toler was not only Inspector Chan, but he
was also Captain of the S.S. Periwinkle!

What is also interesting is that two of the best-known actors to portray
Superman had very similar last names: Reeves and Reeve.
