Since no one else has stepped up to answer your question on this film,
I'll at least offer my somewhat educated opinion.
Mr. Bride is far from the best of the Chase sound shorts, but it is
typical in certain respects. A lot of the shorts deal in putting
Charley in embarrasing situations, but not for their entire length like
Mr. Bride nearly does. A lot of them put Charley in the position of
trying to stay on his boss's good side, and some feature him as a bit
hesitant to tell a lady how he really feels.
I've seen more than half of the Chase talkies and I would place Mr.
Bride in the lower third of the ones I've seen, but I still enjoyed it.
I can't recall any that are outright stinkers. Keep watching them!
You'll see many that you will like more than that one.

Is Mr. Bride typical of a Charlie Chase sound short? I was a little
let down based on my expectations from watching his silents.
