Below is a link to the Jack Benny site. The club's founder and president
is a woman by the name of Laura Leff. She is a very devoted fan of Benny
and has done a wondeful job of keeping his memory alive. Laura is in her
30's, and she told me she got interested in Jack Benny when she was
about 10 years old and saw a Warner Bros. cartoon called the "The Mouse
That Jack Built." (I think that is the correct title). And she has been
hooked on Benny ever since. I'm not actually a die hard fan of Benny
myself, (although I do appreciate his humor), but the main reason the
subject interests me is that my absolute FAVORITE singer of all time
GISELE MACKENZIE used to sing on some of Benny's shows and did comedic
violin skits with him. The funniest of these I think is the "Hong Kong
Suit" episode - really hilarious.
Do any of you guys remember Gisele MacKenzie? She was a big name in the
50's on "Your Hit Parade," and did a lot of game shows in the 60's. I
barely remembered her as a kid, and came to know her music much later in
life. Her biggest hit song was "Hard To Get" in 1955. I actually met her
a few times before her death in 2003. What a great talent she was -
NOBODY could sing like she could! Anyway, here's the Benny site that you
might enjoy looking through. You can post a message on the "guestbook"
and also browse the "forum"/"bulletin board" without actually
"registering" on the site. (I hate those pesky "registrations"!, lol):

I know that a multi disc DvD is in the works by C.B.S. Video of the
Jack Benny Show. My only concearn is that the audience of today will
not give this hilarious show a chance, and will in all likelihood ask:
"Who is Jack Benny?'.

In honor of Jack Benny, I think we should all stick with the bargain-priced Jack
Benny DVDs. But only if we can get them at a discount.
