Usenet has always had spam and will always have spam. You use Google to access
the group, and Google has no interest in filtering out the spam. A proper news
server eliminates nearly all the spam. My choice is Forte
(http://forteinc.com/apn/index.php); for $2.95 a month I get more groups than
Google has, and almost no spam.
