Previous postings on the upcoming release of Norbert Aping's
incredibly comprehensive book on the making and marketing of ATOLL K
proved to be premature. It's now officially scheduled (according to
the author) to be released by McFarland "in 4 weeks". I've seen a PDF
of the proofs (typos being fixed even as we speak) and it truly is a
spectacular effort. If you have a shred of interest in Laurel & Hardy
beyond "Ollie's the fat guy, right?", this book is a must.

I think the story behind the movie will be fascinating. And there are
probably more people alive from the making of that film than any other L&H
film, making a lot of interviews possible.

Norbert seems to have been one of the few people to interview Suzy
Delair on the subject, apparently still feisty and charming at 90.
