It's time to get ready for Cinefest 28, brought to you by the Syracuse
Cinephile Society! This year's four-day festival will take place on
March 13, 14, 15 and 16, 2008 at the usual place....The Holiday Inn at
Electronics Parkway.

We will also have our special Saturday screening of 35mm films at the
Palace Theatre. The Palace was a big hit with Cinefest attendees last
year, and we have a great lineup planned for that fine venue this
year.

We'll also have our popular Dealer Rooms, and of course, we will have
a special tribute to remember our good friend Rusty Casselton who
passed away on December 30th.

For further details about location, registration, etc., as well as to
see our first batch of announced film titles, please log onto:

www.picking.com

and click on the "Cinefest 2008" icon link. Please remember that this
is only a PARTIAL list of the 16mm and 35mm films which we will be
screening during the course of the event.....more titles will be
announced later, so stay tuned!

I'm looking forward to seeing WAYWARD, in which Richard Arlen plays
"David Frost."
Take THAT, Michael Sheen!

Actually, I've missed Cinefest the last 3 years or so, but it looks
like I may be able to make it this year. Looks like a great lineup.

Great line-up! However, I don't see VANITY listed at the website
but it's on the Cinefest flyer. Has it been cancelled? Glad to hear
that we're going back to the Palace again for the 35mm show.

"Vanity" was one of the films being supplied by Rusty Casselton, who
passed away suddenly on December 30th. We're not cancelling the
screening of "Vanity" at this point, but we are currently in the
process of confirming that the print will still be available to us for
Cinefest. Right now we're holding off on publically announcing the
film until its availability to us is confirmed.

Henry, I'm glad to see that you like the Palace. The theater scored a
big hit with Cinefest attendees last year, and it's proven itself to
be a pleasant and comfortable venue for our 35mm show.

Yes, great lineup. I'm planning on attending Cinefest this year. My
first one. I also noticed that The New Klondike and The Lucky Lady
aren't on the website. Have these been cancelled or is it the same
situation as Vanity.? At any rate looking forward to attending.

No, "Vanity" hasn't been officially cancelled, but we have been unable
to confirm the availability of the print, and until we are assured
that it will be available to Cinefest, we thought it best to remove it
from the list of announced titles. Please remember that as our ads
and the website mention, all titles are subject to change.
