Hello, Google? Can anyone keep the M15 posts out of our playground?

Ludicrous isn't the word for the spam pollution that has cluttered

Google has the most popular USENET archive by far, but Google does not own
USENET. In fact, nobody does. Besides, this group is not moderated. If you
want to avoid the MI5 posts, check to see if your newsgroup reader can
filter them out. For example, you could ask not to see any post with MI5 in
its message.

Or complaints could be sent to the originating server of the posts I checked:
***@teranews.com

While those MI5 posts might fit some of the newsgroups they're posted to, they
certainly don't fit some including this one.

Thanks for checking that out. I had erroniously assumed that these posts had
come from one of those servers that covers up you tracks. But if these posts
come from some responsible server that wants to stop this abuse, then by all
means, contact this server.

*All* of the groups I frequent regularly have been hit by the MI5 paranoia
posts! Apparantly, the MI5 poster's evangelical zeal will not be bound by
considerations such as whether his/her posts are on-topic. It's time for
someone to reign the MI5 poster in.

Thanks, Frank - I hadn't thought of those things.

Good idea. Both for the current spam AND if Tom Cruise decides to
make a 5th Mission Impossible... ;)

I had heard somewhere that Brad Pitt may do the next MI films.

Since Cruise is now at his own studio, and the MI franchise ?
belongs to his former employer, I don't think we'll see anymore
MI's from TC.
