I have the Orbit Media Pal DVD of this. Wonder how picture quality
will look on this NTSC release.

The same company is also releasing "Laurel and Hardy Triple Feature"
on the same date (June 5,2007) - with BOGUS BANDITS, MOVIE STRUCK, and
MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS.

That's interesting, didn't know about that one. In reading he cover
art for PERILS it states: THE FURTHER PERILS OF STAN LAUREL AND OLIVER
HARDY. It should actually be just "THE FURTHER PERILS OF LAUREL AND
HARDY". Yeah no biggie but interesting how it reads on the cover.
Glad it's being released here though.

Y'know, something smells fishy about this release. The product
description, provided by the company, just lists the P.D. solo films.
And there is a line in there about "charts their rise to fame".
Methinks they may have taken that part of Youngson's films that deals
with the solo shorts and simply packaged that. After all, Turner had
to pull Laurel & Hardy's Laughing Twenties from TCM and withdraw their
home video releases of this title because the rights to the silent
shorts lay with Richard Feiner. So how can this be a legit release?
I hope it is. But....

From the stuff I read about the Fiener vs. Turner suit, what What
Fiener wanted was Turner to pay the yearly licensing fees that was
originally negociated between Youngson and Roach from the 50's & 60's.
Turner refused or fought against this (so I gather) which resulted in
what happened with L+H LAUGHING 20'S. Could be wrong about this. But
I dunno the whole thing.

But the description you mention on this FURTHER PERILS DVD does make
this release kinda suspicious now. This would explain the wierd
titling on the cover.

If you go to the following link, it looks "legit"...at least at some
level. Same company has released a collection of PD solo shorts that
has been on amazon for some time, so at the very least expect a
pressed (not burned DVD-R) disc of a watchable 16mm print. I expect
even less of the Triple Feature, with all three features on one
disc...although it will be nice to have PICK A STAR/MOVIE STRUCK in
its complete form.

When I first heard about this DVD, I speculated it would be released
by Fox Home Video, but that appears not to be the case. But did Fox
perhaps license this film to this distributor?

I can't wait to get my hands on a copy!

See ya!
