You are 1 yr. too late.
She was born July 29, 1905. Therefore, it is 101 years.
Why didn't you look it up last year at this time?

I have it on good authority that Miss Todd's was born in 1906, and that
the IMDB entry is wrong. I trust my source.

Then why haven't you put in the correction to IMDb.com?
And if what you (and your source) say is true, then she was only 29
when she died, right?

According to www.allmovie.com which, while I am reluctant to call it
more accurate, seems less inaccurate than imdb says:

Birth Name
Thelma Alice Todd
Birth
Jul 29, 1906 - Lawrence, MA
Death
Dec 16, 1935 - Pacific Palisades, CA

So, yeah, 29.

Those who have spoken about trying to get corrections made in IMDB have
generally described a grusome experience, so that may be enough to put
some off of the project,

I tried to add a entry for a lost film that I have one reel for and gave up.

It is no longer easy to add anything to IMDB.com.

In some ways it is a good thing in other ways it is bad.

Same here. I've tried TWICE to add an IMDB entry for the 1943 Columbia
two-reel musical "My Wife's an Angel", starring Allen Jenkins and the Delta
Rhythm Boys, which was produced in New York by Ben K. Blake, but included
in the 1959 Screen Gems package of non-Stooges shorts syndicated to TV. I
have both a VHS and DVD copy of this film and have dutifully noted all
available cast and production credits and a detailed synopsis.

The film EXISTS. Not only have I seen it (several times!), but it's listed
in the Catalogue of Copyright Entries.

Twice, IMDB has sent back an e-mail indicating that my info will be included
on their site as soon as they verify it. It has not appeared.
Evidently they think I made the title up and don't want to do the research
to find out.

Meanwhile, the site logs mistake after mistake in other entries (two of
which I've corrected over the past year--at least THESE went through!)

Go figure.

I've put in numerous additions and corrections to IMDb.com that have
been accepted. Very few I've noticed that have not been accepted and no
e-mails to me saying they can't do it.
Maybe IMDb.com just likes me better? <VBG>

Yes, she was 29. If I were to correct all the errors in the IMDB, I'd
have no time for anything else, including breathing.

If you'd like to see her tombstone, here it is (and it, of course, has
the correct 1906 date):

A proof like that (with the critical link) is all that is needed
to make the change at IMDb.com.

Doesn't take very long to do it, you know!

It takes a couple of weeks, usually. Not that hard,
otherwise. You just have to be a little patient.

Been a month. Still says 1905. Maybe you need to devote the rest of
your life to trying to get IMDB to change this entry. Good luck. We're
all with you.

IMDB has still not corrected Thelma Todd's birthdate.

But you told us it was so EASY to correct IMDB. Just took a little
patience, you said. You were going to handle it, you said. We'd be
greeted as liberators and the war would pay for itself and we'd be
there weeks, not months, you said. (Well, okay, Dick Cheney said THAT.)

I think you're fired as L&H Google's IMDB liaison. Who else wants the
job?

Still says 1905. Is it possible that the guy who said it's so easy to
update IMDB ("just takes a little patience") was naive?

As Bill C. said (and IMDb.com e-mail reply to me says) it may take up to
2 weeks.
But the process on-line is usually fast and not difficult to do after
you log-in.
You must be a member (and logged-in) to make any changes.
