Blockheads - what is missing?

In the 21 disc set. The scene missing is where Ollie carries Stan to
the car. Missing is the scene where Stan asks: "Is this your car?" and
Ollie placing Stan inside. The scene then resumes where Ollie asks
Stan: "Why did'nt you tell me you could walk!?". It is about 30+
seconds of important footage. I have no idea why it is missing.

I think it's probably because it came at a reel change. Beginnings and
ends of film reels have always gotten more abuse from mishandling, and
there are any number of cases where current versions of vintage films
have telltale damage in those sections. In BLOCK-HEADS the "Is this
your car?" footage comes from the beginning of theatrical reel #3, if
memory serves, so somebody must have damaged the countdown leader and
the first part of the content.

Another example is WAY OUT WEST; since the mid-1980s the video
versions (including the one shown on Turner) have visible splices at
the end of the dance scene. That's because it happens to be at the end
of reel #2, and somebody was careless with the 35mm picture element
and had to make repairs.

I love when Ollie is struggling to carry Stan about and Stan's expression is
never one of surprise, but unquestioning and resigned as if Ollie is supposed to
be carrying him.
