I've been watching a different Boris Karloff film daily for Halloween
month and posting a review on my website, in thebalcony.com.

Today, I'm looking at THE NICKEL-HOPPER. Plus... a hitherto unknown
Karloff appearance in a Hal Roach film? I think so, and I've posted
some screen grabs and invited everybody to let me know if they agree
with you. Hope you'll check it out. Thanks!

closer look at the film!

It is definitely Boris, but his role in this film is not a new
discovery. Leonard Maltin noted it in his 1973 The Laurel & Hardy
book. It is also in the imdb.

I think you misunderstand. We're not discussing whether or not that's
Boris in NICKEL-HOPPER; obviously, that is. We're discussing whether
or not that's Boris in LONG FLIV THE KING, undiscussed by either imdb
or Maltin.

As Gilda Radnor's Emily Litella said, "Never mind." But by jove, I
think that is Boris! I'll have to look at my 16mm of Fliv again.
Good catch!

Boris also worked for Hal Roach Jr. on at least one TV project: The Veil.
