I'd be grateful if the enthusiasts could recommend a reputable seller and title
of dvd collection that will include L & H's short reels only, especially a short
demonstrating the best way to deliver a piano up a seriously steep flight of
steps.

thanks

The only extensive DVD collection of fully restored Laurel and Hardy
shorts and features available is from Universal in the UK on PAL
format, Region 2. If you're in the US you'll need a multi-region DVD
player easily available from online sellers.

Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laurel-Hardy-Collection-21-disc-Box/dp/B0001K2KE8/ref=sr_1_20/026-2310513-8608467?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1185465156&sr=1-20

Individual DVDs from thie box set are also sold seperately. The short
you are looking for is THE MUSIC BOX included on Volume 14, "A JOB TO
DO" :

Many thanks to Mister Levity. With a bit of luck my 7 yr old French grand kid is
going to wet his
pantalon when he watches The Music Box for the 1st time. I just hope there is no
age restriction on pure comedy.
