Here Come Laurel & Hardy!
American Legion - Fairhope - Alabama
Sunday November 18 2007 - 3pm - 5pm
Event price: Free
Starting Sunday, November 18, the greater Mobile area will have a new
chapter of the international Laurel and Hardy society "Sons of the Desert."
The new chapter, called a "Tent," will be known as "Any Old Port."
"There are chapters all over the world," says Carole Schneider, founder of
the local group. "Each is named after a Laurel and Hardy film. We chose "Any
Old Port" in honor of Mobile as a leading port city."
She notes that Laurel and Hardy comedies will be shown when they meet at 3pm
at the American Legion in Fairhope on Scenic 98. "You pay for your own
drinks," Ms. Schneider states, "but attendance at the films is free."
She adds "Laurel and Hardy were two of the funniest comedy teams from the
movies' golden age. Young or old, please join the fun. Everyone is welcome."
